Great coffee should be great for everyone.
Sourced ethically via our Direct Trade relationships with origins farms, we are confident this coffee will transform your daily ritual into a celebration of happiness, one sip at a time.
That's why we've made it our mission to craft exceptional coffee that values everyone it touches, from the skilled farmers who cultivate our beans to the dedicated roasters who bring out their unique flavours, and finally to the coffee enthusiasts who savour each sip.
What's more, we are committed to building a better world, with a portion of our proceeds going straight back to meet the needs of the local communities where we source our coffee.
Our Ethiopian single-origin coffee is full-bodied with cocoa and plum overtones.
Perfectly balanced and slow-roasted to enable the creation of barista-quality espresso - the foundation of all speciality coffee, such as cappuccino, latte and flat white. Hand-selected with the help of international coffee experts, we have developed this roast to ensure our beans are not oily, perfect for traditional and bean-to-cup coffee machines.
Picture a coffee that radiates pure sunshine, where the cherries bask in the warmth of Ethiopian rays, resulting in a brew that's as lively and spirited as the people who carefully cultivate it. Our Natural Processed Coffee is a euphoric dance of flavours – a harmonious blend of succulent berries, a touch of floral bliss, and a zesty, wine-like acidity that promises to turn every sip into a celebration.
Crafted for Freshness
Our Ethiopian Natural Processed Coffee pays homage to the infectious joy that saturates the air in Ethiopia. It's a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated farmers who infuse their love and happiness into every bean, ensuring that every sip delivers an experience that transcends the ordinary.
Indulge in the harmonious vibes of Ethiopian coffee culture with our Natural Processed variety – because every sip is a ray of sunshine, and every moment is a cause for celebration.
If you have your head locked into the coffee world, then you have probably heard phrases such as washed coffee, honey process and natural process.
Our Single Origin Ethiopia beans are 100% naturally processed, which is arguably the most authentic and certainly the oldest way to process coffee beans.
The way this works is after the farmers have picked the coffee cherries, the fruit is spread out on raised beds to dry out in the sun. The coffee beans are turned now and again to ensure hot air can freely flow around the cherries to enable a balanced drying process.
Once the process is complete, the coffee cherries are skinned, and the green beans are then rested before being shipped directly to our roasters.
Ethiopia is well known for its naturally processed coffee, not only because it’s a tradition that goes way back but also because the natural process is renowned for adding a depth of flavour that you simply don’t get with other processes.
With our Single Origin Ethiopian coffee beans, you need to experience the taste to see but to give you an idea, the beans have a full body with cocoa flavours and plum overtones, plus, you may also enjoy lighter fruity hints depending on the season.
Moving to Direct Trade has enabled Jurang to pay farmers a premium that goes beyond Fairtrade base rates.
Direct Trade enables suppliers to cut out the middlemen by working directly with farmers. This means we can give more money back to the farmers whilst still offering great prices for our customers. The charge to become Fairtrade certified for many producers is so high that this often results in unnecessarily increased costs for the coffee to roasters and ultimately consumers, as someone within the chain must swallow the fee. Direct Trade erases this fee, resulting in better prices for consumers, yet still offering the same premiums, if not more of the cut, straight back to the farmers.
For this reason, producers are increasingly moving beyond Fairtrade to establish Direct Trade relationships with origin farms. It is therefore now widely accepted that Direct Trade results in better quality coffee due to the improved farmer interaction. The amount Fairtrade premiums pay to farmers often does not change depending on the quality of the crop. We believe farmers should be rewarded for their hard work.
We've concluded that Direct Trade is better for farmers, producers, and customers and are proud to state all of our Happy Coffee Beans are sourced ethically via Direct Trade relationships with origin farms worldwide.
We believe in a vision where the bottom line is people, not profit.
